SCARVES

All Rebecca's silk scarves are hand painted and hand dyed with love using various techniques; some are Japanese in origin like the shibori and arashi shibori. On some, she uses salt to manipulate the dyes into unique designs and others are techniques she has developed over the years. They are always evolving, therefore we recommend checking back regularly to see new products. Rebecca tries to limit her palette to 3 or 4 colours for each scarf, this allows them to be stand-alone statement pieces and they complement many types of outfits and can dress up or down any ensemble. These are timeless pieces that should grace every wardrobe. She uses French professional dyes for her scarves; they are steamed to fix the permanency of the colours and then washed to remove any excess. Care instructions are included with each scarf. They are very popular as gifts.

New for 2024 are Eco Printed and Dyed silk scarves. This is a sustainable eco friendly way of printing using collected leaves, seed-heads, ferns and rusty bits of waste metals. For me, it is also a way of celebrating the lives of these plants and trees even after they have moved onto the next life cycle. A unique gift for yourself or a friend.

Wet Felted Scarves and Cowls. The colours in the land here are so wonderful and the Irish wool is perfect to create pieces with the colours of the land. Sunsets too and colourful skies inspire. "I want my pieces to have a story, something to say as well as being pleasing to wear or have as a decoration". Wool is a sustainable, breathable, biodegradable, allergy free product which is having a long awaited revival. Its value is slowly being realised and it is making a big comeback as both a fashion product and home decor. Rebecca sources most of her wool here in Ireland from local mills and farmers, dyers and spinners. Inspiration comes from the landscapes, skyscapes and natures gifts as in all her work. These pieces are made with the softest merino wool where the skin is likely to come into contact with the scarf. Many people say they cannot wear wool, often it is the ends of the wool fibres that irritate the skin rather than an allergy. I suggest wearing my pieces over a polo-neck or other top to protect the soft skin of the neck and chin if this is a problem for you.
