Description: This eco printed 100% silk habotai scarf is a one of a kind piece of wearable art and is called Leaf and Fern.

This long hand dyed silk scarf is made using a chemical free mordanting process. This is a sustainable eco friendly way of printing using collected leaves, seedheads, ferns and rusty bits of waste metals. For me, it is also a way of celebrating the lives of these plants and trees even after they have moved onto the next life cycle. A unique gift for yourself or a friend.

I have showcased several ways of wearing the scarf in my images which may help you get the most out of your purchase.

This long silk scarf measures 148 x 41 cms and has a hand rolled hem.

I use vinegar and old bits of rusty iron to fix the colours onto the scarves; they are then washed and dried, pressed and kept for a few months to ensure colour fastness.

The scarves are hand washable:

Care Instructions:

• Hand wash in cold water with a little mild soap, do not soak the scarf.
• Wring gently wrapped up in a soft towel.
• Hang out to dry, away from direct sunlight.
• Iron on a low heat setting while the scarf is still damp, under a cotton cloth.

Each scarf is packaged in tissue paper with a printed swing tag which also includes care instructions.

All my silk scarves are hand crafted with love using various foraged materials. They are always evolving, therefore I recommend checking back regularly to see new products. I try to limit my palette to a few colours for each scarf, this allows them to be stand-alone statement pieces and they complement many types of outfits and can dress up or down any ensemble. Eco printed and dyed silks are more subtle in colours, neutral tones make them extremely versatile. These are timeless pieces that should grace every wardrobe.
