Ailbhe Hat

Ailbhe is a handmade silk dupion couture hat with marabou feathers in ivory and silver. This pretty bridal accessory is decorated with handmade flowers using silk and lace, beads, rhinestones, metal filigree leaves and butterflies. Each flower is created different to the next. This cuff is part of a set including a fabulous silk wrist cuff using some of the same handmade flowers to create a matching set of wedding accessories for a bride who dares to be different. Butterflies signify a metamorphosis, a change as one grows in life, evolution, the transition from single to married life perhaps.

Should you wish to commission a particular piece for a wedding or special event, a bespoke couture hat which can include a veil if you wish, a wrist cuff for your debs for example, please get in touch in plenty of time and we can discuss your ideas to make your dream piece a reality. If you are having an outfit made by a dressmaker, we can use some of the same fabric to make your accessory.

Silk dupion fabric, buckram, felt, lace flowers and butterflies, diamantes, elastic, rhinestones, embroidered tulle, glass beads, rocaille beads, seed beads, pearly beads, rhinestone buttons, machine threads, silk threads, marabou feathers, metal filigree leaves, flowers and a butterfly.

***CARE OF YOUR HAT***

This is a silk fabric hat and should be kept dry. Excessive exposure to direct sunlight may damage the silk fibres over time. When not in use, it is best kept in its box unless you wish to use it as an ornamental piece.

All our products are ready to ship. As genuine craftswomen and artisans, all our items are lovingly handmade from start to finish, so no two hats will ever be exactly the same, ensuring you receive a unique piece of art! They are NOT covered cheap hat bases, but handmade using our own designed paper patterns, materials and techniques. Every hat pattern piece is cut out and put together by hand. All our hats have an open crown and fully lined irrelevant of size or shape.

***HOW TO WEAR YOUR HAT***

The smaller hats are held on the head by an elastic tape, which is worn around the back of the head to the nape of the neck and hidden beneath your hair (my preferred way). Also some have two hidden braid 'loops' to secure a head band (included one size) hair band and or a hat comb. Pins or grips (not included) are useful too. Hatinators are lightweight, easily positioned and secured at your most comfortable angle!

***SHIPPING***

All our products are shipped in protective packaging. Our hats are presented in a purpose made hat box (and then wrapped in protective wrapping).

All orders are processed and dispatched within 24 hours. Orders placed at the weekend will be dispatched on Monday.

Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. We are not responsible for delays due to customs. Please check if and how the new Brexit shipping changes may affect you.
